Jamie Livingston's First Polaroid Photo 1979Jamie Livingston's Last Polaroid Portrait

A moving tribute to life captured in static images on a Polaroid SX-70 by the late photographer Jamie Livingston — a New Yorker, a husband, a filmmaker, etc. He took a photo every day for eighteen years until the day he died on October 25, 1997. He called the project “Photo of the Day.” It captures everything from his marriage, to friends and family, career successes, and tracking his progression with what presumably is cancer.

His birthday is June 6. He would’ve been 53 years old today. Happy Birthday Jamie — I would’ve liked to have met you.

See all 18 years worth of photos.

Also, there is a great blog about it here.
